This shop has been a labor of love for my family and I. I opened ten years ago in Essex, CT. After the first year, the shop was permanently moved to the beautiful shoreline town of Old Saybrook, CT.
I graduated from FIT ( the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC) with a BA in fashion design. I spent three years in New York and one year at Polymoda, FIT's fashion school in Florence, Italy. I also worked in the city designing a line of vintage inspired dresses for the clothing company "Zelda". Vintage has always been my passion, the vintage bug was handed down by my mother Jeanne, whose amazing taste, creativity and "we can do anything attitude" was the spark for the shop. So, in 1999 I a returned to Connecticut to open Tova's Vintage shop. Over the past ten years, I have seen some of the most beautiful things and sent them off to their new owners to begin a new life. There is over one hundred years of history in this shop and I feel lucky to be able to do this job, I love to repair or redesign special pieces. style commercials and photo shoots, and run the shop everyday. - owner Tove Vigen
